To Wente!
The troop's
summer program has been defined and the Summer Scout Camp this year will
be back at Wente Scout Reservation located in the Douglas Fir country
near Willits, California. Our troop has reserved the week of July 21–27,
2002. This is a very popular camp with our boys, having a great merit
badge program and an wonderful waterfront.
The camp
is set in about 2,200 acres, and it has an 80-acre lake that provides
a great place for swimming and boating. The aquatics program at Wente
includes canoeing, rowing, a large sailing fleet, and plenty of fishing.
Other activities include horsemanship, handicraft, rifle and shotgun shooting,
archery, nature, and many Scoutcraft programs. Great outpost programs
include: Black Powder, Pole Climbing, Rapelling, and Rock Climbing.
